World is pulling together for Bam

Guardian:As the world realises the full extent of the tragedy unfolding in Iran, all of our thoughts and prayers will be with those who died, were injured or lost loved ones in the earthquake in Bam. Current estimates suggest that up to 20,000 people may have lost their lives in the disaster and that up to 50,000 may have been injured; more than 60 per cent of the city has been destroyed. Thousands of people have seen their homes collapse.

I had the famous Bam dates this morning, how tradgic this incident is.

Iran Quake
BBC: A huge earthquake has killed at least 15,000 people in south-eastern Iran, government sources say. The quake had its epicentre near the ancient city of Bam - most of its buildings have been flattened.

I wanted to see the ancient city like many others who did too, I heard it was all mud bricks that were there for hundred of years. Well I guess it's all going to be stories about it. Sorry to hear about the loss of lives of my countrymen and women.

Saddam's spiderhole photo was taken in August? | Metafilter

The date of th photos varies if it was on September or August

Metafilter: Saddam's spiderhole photo was taken in August, or what? The fruit on the date palm behind the soldier is yellow. Date fruit grows from March-August (see 'Iraq' in table 23) and is harvested in early fall. Dates are yellow (ie. just ripened) in August, not December. I'm not invoking conspiracy - I'm just asking: what gives?

LONDON, (AFP) - Saddam Hussein was captured by US troops only after he had been taken prisoner by Kurdish forces, drugged and abandoned ready for American soldiers to recover him, a British Sunday newspaper said.
TIME Person of the Year: The American Soldier

Time: They swept across Iraq and conquered it in 21 days. They stand guard on streets pot-holed with skepticism and rancor. They caught Saddam Hussein. They are the face of America, its might and good will, in a region unused to democracy. The U.S. G.I. is TIME's Person of the Year.

Conspiracies!!

Pedram was talking about Conspiracies on Saddam capture situation, and before that me and my brother and my dad had an argue about it, the BBC report on the so called hole of Saddam was interesting, because the reporter was standing right above the hole, and there was a palm tree. It had all grown dates on them, the color was yellow. This color means that Saddam was captured in summer not in winter, trees don't grow date no where in Middle east during winter. The color of dates is green during July and it gets fully ready, Yellow in September. Why you ask now it was publicized? Well I think to give a boost to G.W.Bush's campaign for 2004 elections.
Saddam was already captured, before it was publicized to people around the world, their playing games with us. Leaders like Khamenie and Saddam were servants to British and U.S.

'Miserable failure' links to Bush

BBC:Web users entering the words "miserable failure" into the popular search engine are directed to the biography of the president on the White House website.
The trick is possible because Google searches more than just the contents of web pages - it also counts how often a site is linked to, and with what words.
Thus, members of an online community can affect the results of Google searches - called "Google bombing" - by linking their sites to a chosen one.
Weblogger Adam Mathes is credited with inventing the practice in 2001, when he used it to link the phrase "talentless hack" to a friend's website.

Bad luck

Yesterday I went to Superstore (Supermarket) and tried to get a haircut appointment, then I decided to adjust my glasses, so I gave the employee my glasses to adjust, after 2 seconds later she comes back and says to me, the weirdest thing happened to her. I said what? , she said one of my lenses got broken.
I didn't shout, or burst in anger, I said what should I do now? She said they have to fix it for two weeks!! I had to go to school during those two weeks. My glasses were coded, made out of light glass also anti glare and they are transition. I got pissed, so the only choice was to use contacts for the first time of my life, off course temporarily. I hate contacts, at first their hard to wear, then it got easy. I hope you guys all had your glasses or your eyes intact without breaking anything.
I hope my glasses get fixed soon; I have to check on Monday. Sunday's the shops are closed, Nova Scotia is the only province in Canada which closes down their shops.
